Ollie's coaching progress Hi all, I hope you’re all doing as well as can be expected and have had the best week you can possibly have under the current restrictions. My weekly update this week is about another qualification I have recently acquired that compliments what I already believe/teach very well. As you are all now aware my thoughts and beliefs on getting the best out of yourselves on the golf course lie heavily in the mind, this is not just a “think well and you will play well” approach, I believe that the technical side of the game is also extremely important and I would never advocate not working on it! In my personal opinion it is finding the right balance of the two and applying a good, confident and resilient mindset out there on the golf course. So that being said and what prompted me to go down this route is the depth of detail you can go into with regards to your mechanics, but at the same time keeping it amazingly simple! What really interests me Is how the brain soaks up and retains the information you give it and how we can turn that information into a more efficient move, and giving your brain the best chance of doing so. All this being said I have become a certified Colour Path golf coach, I am very big on self development and want to continue to grow myself as a player, coach/mentor and person, I want to give you guys an enjoyable learning experience and ultimately make you better golfers. The principles of Colour Path golf are extremely simple, it uses four colour coordinated visual cues that are scientifically proven to stick in the memory. This gives you an external focus when swinging the golf club, it is also scientifically proven that an external focus will help coordinate your movements on a more subconscious rather than conscious level! As Einstein said, “genius is making complex ideas simple, not making simple ideas complex.” The idea being that it is easier to visualise and better understand your own, INDIVIDUAL golf swing with a very simple and easy to understand colour method of visual learning. As always feel free to drop me a message if any of you would like to know any more about what I teach, and I do still have online lessons available should any of you be interested. Please stay safe and well, wishing you all a COLOURFUL week and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Thanks, Ollie. |
