Meet the Team

1 month into our new roles for people who haven’t met us yet here is a little bio on Ash & Nyle.

PGA Club Professional - Ashley Lerigo

Ashley Has joined us from nearby Rotherham Golf club where he spent 5 1/2 years working as an assistant. This is his 1st role as a Head Professional he has over 16 years’ experience in the industry and is looking forward to working at Hickleton golf club.

PGA Assistant Professional - Nyle Challinor

Nyle has joined the team from Doncaster Town Moor. From turning professional in 2014, Nyle spends most of his time working in Nottingham. He worked as a Get into Golf Coordinator with England Golf in Nottingham which helped hundreds of people start up golf. Nyle's passion for coaching and encouraging juniors to play golf will no doubt be an asset at Hickleton GC.

Coaching news

Junior Coaching Sessions

Junior sessions will be starting soon, in the meantime, we have set up 2 taster sessions that will be free of charge to generate some momentum prior to starting the junior sessions regularly. The sessions will be on Saturday 18th January and Sunday 26th January both at 10.30 am till 11.30 am. There are 8 places available in each session so please book your child’s place in the pro shop, first-come-first-served basis.

We’re not going to ask anything too strenuous of you this week as we ease our way into the new year so don’t worry! Instead, take a quick look at the image below and see if any of it looks familiar to you.

With a new season upon us and plenty of new products arriving in your local pro shop over the next few months (more on this in the coming weeks), now’s the perfect time to wave goodbye to the old tatty golf shoes, the worn-out gloves in a pile at the bottom of your bag, and the golf balls with more scuff marks than dimples!

If you’re the type of golfer who keeps on top of their equipment then we salute you but if any of the above rings true, pop by the shop this weekend and give your stuff a winter MOT. We’re always here to help.

A bag for life

Following on from our article above, how many things are you trying to jam into your golf bag before every round? For us, a golf bag is so much more than something to lug your clubs around in; instead, it’s an extension of your locker with a place for everything you might need out on the course.

From lucky charms to hand cream, you name it and there’s a good chance a pro has carried it in their bag – well, their caddy to be more precise!
